Indoor Lighting

I was thinking of getting some of those bell-shaped light bulbs for a hardware store and building a small rack for indoor lighting. Would these suffice? How many would I need? and what what filters, if any, would I need. This is Super8 using K40

get some powerfull photoflood bulds from a photography shop. You can get 275 - 500 watt (i think) and you can put them in a standard light socket. but...don't leave them on for too long...they get hot and can melt your sockets. 275 watt was fine on our production. K40 stock is tungsten balanced so you will not need any filters for inside but if you shoot outside you will need an 85 filter (i think thats what there called). most s-8 cameras have them built in with a swith on the side.

As with all lighting please remember the laws of physics when plugging them into any circuit.

Therefore if your using 750watt red-heads divide this by the voltage (240) which translates to 3 (amps.) So a 13 amp ring circuit in a standard household will take only 3 redheads before your gonna blow anything.
Remember never to use a (ceiling)light circuit as they only run on 5 amps.

That is good advice Marti, i've been jerking around with electricity and electronics for a while, so I know my limitations.
